On May 19, 2023, the Office of the Chief Disciplinary Counsel determined that the conduct described in the grievance was “not a violation of the disciplinary rules.” Thus, the grievance was classified as an “Inquiry” and dismissed.
On June 15, 2023, an appeal was filed with the Board of Disciplinary Appeals (BODA).
BODA denied the appeal.
A new grievance will be filed after changes in the law (HB17) become effective 9/1/23.
HB17 (Effective 9/1/23) Texas House Bill 17, relating to official misconduct by and removal of prosecuting attorneys.
